Throughout 2013 I’ve been working on a social photo project called The City Speaks. Each day, I post an image from my personal archive of urban street scenes to Facebook and Flickr.
I designed this open-ended curation process with no particular goals in mind other than to surprise/delight my followers and help me reflect on the images I’ve felt compelled to capture over the last two decades. So far, it’s led me in some interesting directions.
In May, I used a few of the images to build this Zeega, which was shown at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art as part of a larger event organized by Localore producers The Kitchen Sisters.
In November, the image at left was selected to be displayed at the Philadelphia International Airport as part of a Philly Photo Day installation.
I’m currently pondering year-end steps for this exhibit. Got thoughts? Drop me a line.
